Nightline

Nightline Logo

Nightline provides students with confidential listening every night of term time from 8pm to 8am. We're completely neutral and won't judge you or try and tell you what to do; anything you do tell us will remain completely confidential. There are always two volunteers on duty in the flat, usually one male and one female. You can call us – free from internal phones – or visit our flat in Langwith G block. It doesn't have to be the end of the world for you to use us, you can drop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat or just a break from work in the early hours of the morning.
We also provide information - we have leaflets on everything from the local area to bus timetables to welfare and health information - which you can take away with you. We also have free condoms, pregnancy tests and attack alarms.
Nightline is completely student run but all volunteers undergo training before they can do nights. We run training once a term, if you'd like to volunteer please send your name, course, year of study, york email and address to nightmail@yusu.org.
