Halifax needs to send six volunteers down to stand at Vanbrugh Stalls to chat to people about employability
Tuesday+Wednesday 11-2
Email Lydia for details
Sports rep meeting;
Swimming gala Wednesday
With evening afterparty
ISA meeting;
International film festival
Different college each week
Request to use JJs as for a venue for this: motion passed
No YUSU grant as of yet.
24th February, 11pm
Jane Grenville (Pro-Vice Chancellor) would like a meeting with the committee
Try to rearrange with her because this time does not suit all.
Perhaps late afternoon (5pm) would be better
Vice-Chancellor will soon stop paying for Sky subscription
4,500 round figure per year which cannot be continued to be paid by the HCSA
Perhaps looking at a different and cheaper deal with Sky
Perhaps look into Virgin Media
Find out what we currently have, and find out what we could have instead
BPM event;
Everyone on the committee to buy a ticket
Tell everyone in your house to buy a ticket
Promote, promote, promote
Need this event to be good to raise money for the HCSA
Tickets can be bought from Court Reps or on the YUSU website
Sports;
Not enough people are going to fixtures
Big push needed
After Sharpy’s report last week, some kind of initiative needs to be made
Girls need to be encouraged to play
Make a trial/sampler afternoon where you can mix and match sports and try out what you like
Afterwards, you can join a team
Big Saturday morning (20th) event in JJs to encourage people to play more sport
Leaflets and flyers to be made and handed out to advertise it
Say that it’s not competitive, and anyone can join in
A couple of games on 22 acres on that morning so people can join in and try
Wednesday evening – volleyball training session against Goodricke to encourage more players
JJs campaign;
Posters for the common room to encourage cleanliness
Join “I Love JJs” group on facebook to encourage people to respect the building
Mops and paper towels to be made available
Tell people that there is the possibility that JJs could be closed at 2am if it isn’t used sensibly and kept tidy
Keep this ticking over
Did everyone get the minutes? Those that didn’t to give Sonja their email addresses
Ann Summers party idea considered
Will it be considered bad taste and blackballed by YYUSU
If it brings people to socialise then perhaps end justifies means
It isn’t cheap and doesn’t cater to everyone’s tastes
Think seriously about who would be let in
Perhaps thinking about selling tickets
Consider other companies with similar ideas
Make it a girls only event
Doorsafe would have to be at the event
This means booking form would have to be filled in
Cheerleaders are coming down with a taster session to teach everyone some moves – next term
Ann Summers party MUST be a girls only event
Other companies wouldn’t have to be girls only events
Thanks to everyone who came to Mr+Mrs York and the RAG Parade
Everyone in the committee should have attended and brought a couple of people
Bring everyone you know to BPM event
Meeting next week at 7pm as usual.
