Unlike the other Colleges, Halifax does not consist of a main building divided into blocks and sub-divided into corridoors. Instead, students live in houses which are grouped together to form courts. There are nine Courts in Halifax: * St Lawrence Court - It is the largest of the nine courts. It consists of twenty-six houses, named from A to Z. College members with families also live in Garrowby Way, an area of housing which is part of Halifax College. Garrowby Way housing is managed by the University. Ainsty and Hickleton Courts are managed by UPP Projects Limited as part of the University Partnership Programme, a PFI scheme. They were built and originally maintained by Jarvis PLC. The other Courts are managed by the College and the University's Accommodation Office. Our courts each have their own reps: Daveds - St. Lawrence - dpm503@york.ac.uk |
